Myopia, commonly called nearsightedness or shortsightedness, is a refractive error of the eye in which distant objects appear blurry while close objects can be seen clearly. It is one of the most prevalent visual disorders worldwide and its incidence is rapidly increasing, particularly among younger populations in urban environments.
